2. What information we collect

When you sign up through our website, we may collect:

Your name, if provided.
Your email address.
Your email subscription preferences.
The date, time and method of your consent.
Information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.

Our website may also collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and cookie preferences, depending on the website services we use.

3. How we use your information

We use your personal information for the following purposes.

Product launch updates

If you subscribe to our launch updates, we will use your email address to send you information about the Steady Teddy launch, including launch dates, pre-orders and product availability.

Marketing communications

If you separately opt into our general mailing list, we may send you emails about Steady Teddy products, new releases, exclusive offers, promotions and other brand news.

You can subscribe to either category independently. Signing up for launch updates does not automatically subscribe you to our general marketing mailing list.

Customer enquiries

If you contact us, we will use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and manage our correspondence with you.

Website operation and security

We may process limited technical information to operate, maintain and protect our website.

4. Our legal basis for processing your information

We rely on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR when sending you the launch updates or marketing communications you have chosen to receive.

You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Where necessary, we may rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) to respond to enquiries and maintain the security and functionality of our website, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

5. Email marketing and unsubscribing

We only send you the categories of optional marketing communications you have agreed to receive, unless another lawful marketing permission applies.

Every marketing email will include an option to unsubscribe.

You can also change your email preferences or withdraw your consent by contacting laura@steadyteddy.co.uk.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before your withdrawal.

6. How we store and share your information

We take appropriate steps to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

We may use trusted third-party service providers to operate our website, store subscriber information and deliver emails on our behalf.

These providers are only permitted to process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection requirements and our instructions, where they act as our data processors.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. International data transfers

Some of our service providers may process or store personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where this happens, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards or another valid transfer mechanism are in place, as required by applicable data protection law.

You can contact us for further information about any applicable international transfers and safeguards.

8. How long we keep your information

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

If you subscribe only to launch updates, we will retain your information for the launch communications you requested and then delete it unless you have separately agreed to receive further marketing or another valid reason for retention applies.

If you subscribe to our general mailing list, we will retain your information while your subscription remains active, subject to regular reviews.

If you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of your email address and preferences to ensure we respect your request and do not contact you again without an appropriate lawful basis.

We may retain other information where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

9. Cookies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies to operate essential website functions, remember preferences or understand how visitors interact with our website.

Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, including advertising or certain analytics cookies.
